马太福音21:12~17

洁净圣殿

（可11‧15－19；路19‧45－48；约2‧13－22）

12耶稣进了　神的殿，赶出殿里一切做买卖的人，推倒兑换银钱之人的桌子，和卖鸽子之人的凳子，

13对他们说：「经上记着说：

我的殿必称为祷告的殿，

你们倒使它成为贼窝了。」

14在殿里有瞎子、瘸子到耶稣跟前，他就治好了他们。

15祭司长和文士看见耶稣所行的奇事，又见小孩子在殿里喊着说：「和散那归于大卫的子孙！」就甚恼怒，

16对他说：「这些人所说的，你听见了吗？」耶稣说：「是的。经上说『你从婴孩和吃奶的口中完全了赞美』的话，你们没有念过吗？」

17于是离开他们，出城到伯大尼去，在那里住宿。

Jesus at the Temple

12Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

13“It is written,”he said to them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”

14The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.

15But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.

16“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,”replied Jesus, “have you never read,

“ ‘From the lips of children and infants

you, Lord, have called forth your praise’ ?”

17And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

所有在做买卖的人(12节):当时的宗教领袖在圣殿的外邦人院画设买卖祭牲及兑换货币的区域，允许商人在那里进行商业行为。喊窝(13节):神的殿本该是祷告的殿，但那时在圣殿中进行的买卖行为，参杂了讹诈及剥削穷人等恶重，甚至宗教领袖也可能与商人勾结，导致圣殿的场域成了犯罪的场所。

在圣殿里有盲人和瘸子到耶稣跟前(14节):盲人和瘸子原是不被允许进入圣殿敬拜的，但耶稣医治这些被排除在圣殿敬拜之外的人，表明弥赛亚的到来及新时代的来临。
耶稣进入耶路撒冷后做的第一件事，就是洁净圣殿。当时，圣殿中是以献祭牲畜的方式来敬拜神，为了方便从外地前来的人取得牲畜，圣殿的外邦人院中画设有买卖性畜的区域。但在这些买卖和兑换货币的交易中，哄抬价格和欺瞒剥削的情况屡见不鲜。圣殿本该是敬拜和祈祷的地方，在当时却成了宗教领袖和商人中饱私囊的贼窝。于是，耶稣赶出圣殿中做买卖和兑换货币的人，推倒他们的桌椅，借此洁净圣殿(12~13节)。此外，耶稣也医治来到圣殿中找祂的盲人和瘸子，显明神国的新时代来临。我们也应该除去心中已被扭曲、变质的事物，洁净自己的心来向神献上敬拜，让内心恢复成为敬拜与祷告的殿。
