申命记2：7~15

7因为耶和华－你的　神在你手里所办的一切事上已赐福与你。你走这大旷野，他都知道了。这四十年，耶和华－你的　神常与你同在，故此你一无所缺。』

8「于是，我们离了我们弟兄以扫子孙所住的西珥，从亚拉巴的路，经过以拉他、以旬‧迦别，转向摩押旷野的路去。

9耶和华吩咐我说：『不可扰害摩押人，也不可与他们争战。他们的地，我不赐给你为业，因我已将亚珥赐给罗得的子孙为业。』

10先前，有以米人住在那里，民数众多，身体高大，像亚衲人一样。

11这以米人像亚衲人；也算为利乏音人；摩押人称他们为以米人。

12先前，何利人也住在西珥，但以扫的子孙将他们除灭，得了他们的地，接着居住，就如以色列在耶和华赐给他为业之地所行的一样。

13现在，起来过撒烈溪！于是我们过了撒烈溪。

14自从离开加低斯‧巴尼亚，到过了撒烈溪的时候，共有三十八年，等那世代的兵丁都从营中灭尽，正如耶和华向他们所起的誓。

15耶和华的手也攻击他们，将他们从营中除灭，直到灭尽。

7The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

8So we went on past our relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned from the Arabah road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber, and traveled along the desert road of Moab.

9Then the Lord said to me, “Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession.”

10(The Emites used to live there—a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites.

11Like the Anakites, they too were considered Rephaites, but the Moabites called them Emites.

12Horites used to live in Seir, but the descendants of Esau drove them out. They destroyed the Horites from before them and settled in their place, just as Israel did in the land the Lord gave them as their possession.)

13And the Lord said, “Now get up and cross the Zered Valley.” So we crossed the valley.

14Thirty-eight years passed from the time we left Kadesh Barnea until we crossed the Zered Valley. By then, that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.

15The Lord’s hand was against them until he had completely eliminated them from the camp.

耶和华—你的神(7节):反复两次强调是神让以色列成为自己的百姓，赐给他们不变的恩典和慈爱实现的承诺与救恩。

撒烈溪(13节):顺服神的话过撒烈溪，如同过红海和约旦河，象征新的救赎事工开始。从加低斯·巴尼亚到过撒烈溪，中间经过了38年，这也是以色列百姓新的里程碑。

哀3:22~23“因耶和华的慈爱，我们不致灭绝，因他的怜悯永不断绝，每早晨，这都是新的;你的信实极其广大!

灵修指南

38年前，以色列百姓在加低斯·巴尼亚悖逆了神，导致那世代的战士都被灭尽正如耶和华向他们所起的誓(14~15节)。然而，神与旷野中的他们同行了40年，始终赐福给他们，使他们一无所缺(7节)。这带出神对自己百姓的怜悯、慈爱与信实，永不更改。当以色列百姓顺服神的话，渡过撒烈溪，同样也表明着悖逆与受审的时代已结束，神对以色列百姓新里程的带领即将开始(13~14节)。尽管我们如同以色列百姓会有犯错、悖逆的时候，但相信神对我们的慈爱、怜悯与信实(参哀3:22~23)，终将使我们不致在不信与失败中一蹶不振，乃是靠着信心顺服池的话跨越撒烈溪。让我们铭记神的信实和对我们的爱，忘记悖逆的过去，成为信心的勇士。
