以赛亚书51：9～16

9 耶/和/华的膀臂啊，兴起！兴起！以能力为衣穿上，

像古时的年日、上古的世代兴起一样。

从前砍碎拉哈伯、刺透大鱼的，不是你吗？

10 使海与深渊的水干涸、

使海的深处变为赎民经过之路的，

不是你吗？

11 耶/和/华救/赎的民必归回，

歌唱来到锡安；

永乐必归到他们的头上。

他们必得着欢喜快乐；

忧愁叹息尽都逃避。

12 惟有我，是安慰你们的。

你是谁，竟怕那必死的人？

怕那要变如草的世人？

13 却忘记铺张诸天、立定地基、

创造你的耶/和/华？

又因欺压者图谋毁灭要发的暴怒，

整天害怕，

其实那欺压者的暴怒在哪里呢？

14 被掳去的快得释放，

必不死而下坑；

他的食物也不致缺乏。

15 我是耶/和/华－你的　 SHEN －

搅动大海，使海中的波浪匉訇－

万军之耶/和/华是我的名。

16 我将我的话传给你，

用我的手影遮蔽你，

为要栽定诸天，立定地基，

又对锡安说：你是我的百姓。

9 Awake, awake, arm of the Lord,

clothe yourself with strength!

Awake, as in days gone by,

as in generations of old.

Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces,

who pierced that monster through?

10 Was it not you who dried up the sea,

the waters of the great deep,

who made a road in the depths of the sea

so that the redeemed might cross over?

11 Those the Lord has rescued will return.

They will enter Zion with singing;

everlasting joy will crown their heads.

Gladness and joy will overtake them,

and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

12 “I, even I, am he who comforts you.

Who are you that you fear mere mortals,

human beings who are but grass,

13 that you forget the Lord your Maker,

who stretches out the heavens

and who lays the foundations of the earth,

that you live in constant terror every day

because of the wrath of the oppressor,

who is bent on destruction?

For where is the wrath of the oppressor?

14 The cowering prisoners will soon be set free;

they will not die in their dungeon,

nor will they lack bread.

15 For I am the Lord your God,

who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—

the Lord Almighty is his name.

16 I have put my words in your mouth

and covered you with the shadow of my hand—

I who set the heavens in place,

who laid the foundations of the earth,

and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’ ”

兴起(9节):显明以色列人虽然相信 SHEN 的存在，却觉得 TA 处于沉睡之中。
拉哈伯、大鱼(9节):根据前后文判断，这指的是红海事件中的埃及和法老，而在以赛亚的时代，这可以用来代表巴比伦，也包括 YS 再来之前的所有强权与王位。
使海与深渊的水干涸……耶/和/华救/赎的民必归回(10~11节): SHEN 不仅在过去为 TA 的百姓开道路，也将带领被掳的他们归回。

灵/修指南

以赛亚和以色列人迫切祈求 SHEN 能够“兴起”，来拯救他们(1节)。他们知道 SHEN 曾打败埃及，使他们得自由和释放，因此他们认为 SHEN 如今也能兴起帮助他们(10~11节)。然而， SHEN 的想法却有所不同。如果以色列人真的相信的存在和能力，就不应感到恐惧害怕。但是，从以色列人的反应来看，他们虽然相信 SHEN ，却常常忘记 TA (12~14节)。因此，真正需要兴起的，不是 SHEN ，而是以色列人。尽管 SHEN 的百姓本应紧紧抓住 SHEN (15~16节)，他们却陷人了属/灵的沉睡。因为 SHEN 的帮助来得比他们预想的要晚，他们已经失去耐心，信心也已经开始退化。但愿以色列人成为我们的鉴戒，以致当我们面对世界带给我们的恐惧，能以信心忍耐到底，相信 SHEN 必定帮助我们得胜。
