以赛亚书43：8~13

以色列是耶/和/华的见证人

8你要将有眼而瞎、

有耳而聋的民都带出来！

9任凭万国聚集；

任凭众民会合。

其中谁能将此声明，

并将先前的事说给我们听呢？

他们可以带出见证来，自显为是；

或者他们听见便说：这是真的。

10耶/和/华说：你们是我的见证，

我所拣选的仆人。

既是这样，便可以知道，且信服我，

又明白我就是耶/和/华。

在我以前没有真 SHEN ；

在我以后也必没有。

11惟有我是耶/和/华；

除我以外没有救/主。

12我曾指示，我曾拯救，我曾说明，

并且在你们中间没有别 SHEN 。

所以耶/和/华说：

你们是我的见证。

我也是　 SHEN ；

13自从有日子以来，我就是　 SHEN ；

谁也不能救人脱离我手。

我要行事谁能阻止呢？

8Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,

who have ears but are deaf.

9All the nations gather together

and the peoples assemble.

Which of their gods foretold this

and proclaimed to us the former things?

Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right,

so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”

10“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,

“and my servant whom I have chosen,

so that you may know and believe me

and understand that I am he.

Before me no god was formed,

nor will there be one after me.

11I, even I, am the Lord,

and apart from me there is no savior.

12I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—

I, and not some foreign god among you.

You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God.

13Yes, and from ancient days I am he.

No one can deliver out of my hand.

When I act, who can reverse it?”

SHEN 虽然称以色列人为“有眼却瞎、有耳却聋的民”，却还是呼召他们，赐给他们“见证人和仆人”的使/命（10a节），这表示以色列人要在万国聚集、万民会合的场合作 SHEN 的见证人，为要叫世人知道：第一，除了 SHEN 之外，没有别的 SHEN （10b节）， SHEN 是无可比拟的真 SHEN 。第二， SHEN 是唯一救/主（11—12节），以色列人要见证他们已经亲身经历 SHEN 的救/恩，当时以色列周遭的国家正面临一个历史转捩点：巴比伦的衰退和波斯的兴起，而以色列人有责任宣告这些都是 SHEN 救/赎以色列的计划.另外， SHEN 宣告 TA 从太初开始就是 SHEN （13节），显明以色列的救/赎者是全能的 SHEN ，而我们所信的是同一位 SHEN ，既然如此，我们也肩负着相同的使/命——作 SHEN 的见证人。
