施洗约翰传道

1凯撒提庇留在位第十五年，本丢‧彼拉多作犹太巡抚，希律作加利利分封的王，他兄弟腓力作以土利亚和特拉可尼地方分封的王，吕撒聂作亚比利尼分封的王，

2 亚那和该亚法作大祭司。那时，撒迦利亚的儿子约翰在旷野里，　 SHEN 的话临到他。

3 他就来到约旦河一带地方，宣讲悔改的洗礼，使罪得赦。

4 正如先知以赛亚书上所记的话，说：
在旷野有人声喊着说：
预备主的道，
修直他的路！

5 一切山洼都要填满；
大小山冈都要削平！
弯弯曲曲的地方要改为正直；
高高低低的道路要改为平坦！

6 凡有血气的，都要见　 SHEN 的救/恩！

7 约翰对那出来要受他洗的众人说：「毒蛇的种类！谁指示你们逃避将来的忿怒呢？

8 你们要结出果子来，与悔改的心相称。不要自己心里说：『有亚伯拉罕为我们的祖宗。』我告诉你们，　 SHEN 能从这些石头中，给亚伯拉罕兴起子孙来。

9 现在斧子已经放在树根上，凡不结好果子的树就砍下来，丢在火里。」

10 众人问他说：「这样，我们当做什么呢？」

11 约翰回答说：「有两件衣裳的，就分给那没有的；有食物的，也当这样行。」

12 又有税吏来要受洗，问他说：「夫子，我们当做什么呢？」

13 约翰说：「除了例定的数目，不要多取。」

14 又有兵丁问他说：「我们当做什么呢？」约翰说：「不要以强暴待人，也不要讹诈人，自己有钱粮就当知足。」

John the Baptist Prepares the Way

1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene—

2 during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.

3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

4 As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.

5 Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.

6 And all people will see God’s salvation.’”

7 John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

10 “What should we do then?” the crowd asked.

11 John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”

12 Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”

13 “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them.

14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?”

He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.”

SHEN 的话临到在旷野里的施洗约翰，他就走遍约旦河一带地方，宣讲悔改的洗礼，使罪得赦，为 YS 预备道路。施洗约翰强调，赦罪并不是靠血统，唯有真正与悔改相称的行动，才是罪得赦免的明证。当被问到要如何结出悔改的果子时，施洗约翰对著众人、税吏和士兵说，要把多余的衣裳和食物分给邻舍;除了规定的数目不要多收;不要勒索人，也不要敲诈人，要以自己的粮为足。一言以蔽之，就是要[爱邻如己上，这才是与悔改的心相称的好果子。在信/徒的生活中，如果我们宣称信主，但生命却毫无改变，那么我们就没有真正悔改。盼望我们作为 JI DU 的MEN TU，结出爱邻舍的好果子，与悔改的心相称。
