以赛亚书37：33~38

33「所以耶/和/华论亚述王如此说：他必不得来到这城，也不在这里射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不筑垒攻城。

34 他从哪条路来，必从那条路回去，必不得来到这城。这是耶/和/华说的。

35 因我为自己的缘故，又为我仆人大卫的缘故，必保护拯救这城。」

36 耶/和/华的使者出去，在亚述营中杀了十八万五千人。清早有人起来一看，都是死尸了。

37 亚述王西拿基立就拔营回去，住在尼尼微。

38 一日在他的 SHEN －尼斯洛庙里叩拜，他儿子亚得米勒和沙利色用刀杀了他，就逃到亚拉腊地。他儿子以撒哈顿接续他作王。

33 “Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:

“He will not enter this city

or shoot an arrow here.

He will not come before it with shield

or build a siege ramp against it.

34 By the way that he came he will return;

he will not enter this city,”

declares the Lord.

35 “I will defend this city and save it,

for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!”

36 Then the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies!

37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.

38 One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisrok, his sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.

SHEN 对亚述王西拿基立说，他进不了犹大的城，也无法向其发射一支箭，就要从原路返回 (33~34节)。等到清早起来， SHEN 的话语便成就了，耶/和/华的使者在一夜之间击打亚述军队，杀了十八万五千人，使营中遍地都是死尸。西拿基立大为惊慌，就拔营回去，住在尼尼微，结果被自己的儿子背叛，死在那里 (36~38节)。如此， SHEN 的话没有一句落空，全都成就了。亚述曾一度嘲笑 SHEN 和他的百姓，如今却没能发动一次战争，就被消灭殆尽，连他们的王西拿基立也被自己儿子所杀这一切事都是 SHEN 为了自己的荣耀，也为了持守与大卫的约定，又为了拯救自己的百姓所成就的。可见， SHEN 是持守约定的 SHEN ，他必照着自己的约定伸手拯救我们。盼望我们今天也能信靠成就自己话语的 SHEN ，经历dao告蒙应允的恩典。
