约翰一书3：17~24

17 凡有世上财物的，看见弟兄穷乏，却塞住怜恤的心，爱　神的心怎能存在他里面呢？

18 小子们哪，我们相爱，不要只在言语和舌头上，总要在行为和诚实上。
在　神面前安稳
19 从此就知道我们是属真理的，并且我们的心在　神面前可以安稳。

20 我们的心若责备我们，　神比我们的心大，一切事没有不知道的。

21 亲爱的弟兄啊，我们的心若不责备我们，就可以向　神坦然无惧了。

22 并且我们一切所求的，就从他得着；因为我们遵守他的命令，行他所喜悦的事。

23 　神的命令就是叫我们信他儿子耶稣基督的名，且照他所赐给我们的命令彼此相爱。

24 遵守　神命令的，就住在　神里面，　神也住在他里面。我们所以知道　神住在我们里面是因他所赐给我们的圣灵。

17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:

20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God

22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.

23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

缺乏（17节）：意为“不足、缺少、亟需”，经文中指缺少基本的谋生手段。

信徒相爱不能只在言语或舌头上，而要用行为和真诚表现出来（18节）。约翰说，信徒若知道弟兄缺少基本的谋生手段，却不以行动帮助，神的爱就不在他里面了（17节）。又说，信徒若遵守神的命令，行神所喜悦的事，就可以在神面前坦然无惧，并得着祷告蒙应允的恩典（21～22节）。神命令的核心，就是信祂儿子耶稣基督的名，并且照着主耶稣所赐给我们的命令彼此相爱（23节）。用信心实践爱、遵守神命令的人，就是住在神里面，神也住在他里面（24节）。也就是说，用信心具体、主动地将爱弟兄的心表现出来，是最讨神喜悦的事，也是祷告蒙应允的捷径。若我们的身边有需要帮助的弟兄，盼望我们能够付出我们的时间和物质来实践爱的服事，作讨神喜悦的门徒。

求神让我照着耶稣基督彼此相爱的命令，用行为和真诚具体地表现出对弟兄的爱。
