以斯帖记4：12～17

12 人就把以斯帖这话告诉末底改。

13 末底改托人回复以斯帖说：「你莫想在王宫里强过一切犹大人，得免这祸。

14 此时你若闭口不言，犹大人必从别处得解脱，蒙拯救；你和你父家必致灭亡。焉知你得了王后的位分不是为现今的机会吗？」

15 以斯帖就吩咐人回报末底改说：

16「你当去招聚书珊城所有的犹大人，为我禁食三昼三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宫女也要这样禁食。然后我违例进去见王，我若死就死吧！」

17 于是末底改照以斯帖一切所吩咐的去行。

12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai,

13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape.

14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai:

16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

17 So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions.1 Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—

若死就死吧（16节）：以斯帖明白末底改的劝告，也愿意全然顺从 SHEN 的旨意，甚至不惜一死，这是她信/仰崇高的表现。约10：11“我是好牧人，好牧人为羊舍命。”

灵/修指南

末底改明白，按照波斯的传统，就算是王后也不能在没有蒙召的情况下擅自见王，但他相信以斯帖成为王后是 SHEN 的旨意，因此才会二度请求以斯帖为犹太民族请命（12～14节）。以斯帖也不愿置同族的性命于不顾，于是恳请周围的人和全体犹太人为她禁食dao告（16节）。以斯帖请求末底改召集书珊城所有的犹太人，为她禁食三昼三夜，不吃不喝；她动员了 SHEN 所赐给她的所有恩赐和地位资源，准备冒死见王。以斯帖所做的宣告“我若死就死吧”（16节），足以表明她内心是何等的坚决。从以斯帖为了拯救自己的民族而做出的视死如归宣告中，我们可以感受到她牧者的心肠（参约10：11）。盼望我们也都能全然明白和体会，以斯帖为羊舍命的牧者心肠。
